Wow this thread got kinda off track. If the divorce is uncontested you really dont need a lawyer at all. But to be safe any lawyer will work. Only one of you need the lawyer. Just be very careful when you read over the final divorce decree and make sure if she has a lawyer and you dont, that she doesnt throw something in there and slip it by you. I've been through the uncontested, and my crazy ex tried to throw in that I had to keep medical insurance on her for 5 years. Luckily I found it before signing, and had her lawyer make another draft immediately since I hadnt agreed to that in the preceedings.. If the wife is cool though shouldnt cost more than a few hundred for the lawyer, and filing fees .Good luck, and Congrats on your impending freedom !!
