RX8 or SR20DET 240SX?
I got you bro. I mean, I would consider it a sports car...maybe not a great one...but I dunno, maybe im wrong. Im not that smart with cars anyways....
And once again, dragging isnt my goal. Im a curvy mountain road guy...not a 10 second rice burner. So I dont really care about the 13s...plus, anything is faster than my RS, haha.

2 geos...haha. That made me laugh. But yeah, Khan, I drive the same way...so I'm right there with you...im actually trying to blow up my Eclipse right now...so I have even more of a reason to convince myself to just buy a new car, lol...but as of now...no joy. Im not really that worried about mpg by the way. I havent had a really good fuel efficient car since ive been driving...so why start now? lol. Car and Driver apparently loves the RX8...their review was almost over the top. If i maintain oil (which i normally do) and don't completely dog the engine...im looking at a fairly reliable sports car? And im guessing the S2000 is more powerful and more reliable? If thats the case...I definitely may be looking into one of those...
I'd go on howstuffworks.com and read "how a rotary engine works", you'll learn that it actually prefers to stay in high RPMs so unless your oil is low I'd rev the hell out of it. Remember carbon buildup is a lot worse for a rotary engine than it is for a piston engine...so don't hesitate to drive it hard. It should be extremely reliable if you check oil, and don't let it flood (don't shut it off when its cold). If any cooling or oiling problems come up, take care of it right away because any small faliure can mean a rebuild. Oil starvation or overheating kills rotary engines quickly, and running lean. Thats why they run so rich they backfire with an open exhaust. Also a reason why people don't prefer them as a drag car because with boost theres a lot more potential for things to break. I havent researched RX8s enough to know if there are any common problems but check out rx8club.com. And yes the S2000 outperforms it in just about every way...seriouslyAs for getting into the 13s, not everyone races at red lights, local meets and dragstrips. It has enough acceleration to make use of its stiff chassis and suspension and thats all that matters to some people.
