I just think, in my opinion, Ford wins this round pretty clearly. Being the "type of car modding guy" I am, I like the fact that Ford has taken care of all the small stuff. Good headers, high flowing heads, high compression, high revs, etc etc. They've taken care of all the small stuff and left big upgrades (Cams, forced induction, etc) in the hands of the consumer. I also like the fact that this motor appears to have been built with future factory forced induction options in mind.

See this is a perfect statement. When I buy a car its nice to know I wont have to waste more money on shit that should already be good from the factory...like exhaust and intakes and such. This way I will have more money left for big GO FAST mods like a turbo or supercharger. I think this is a good move by Ford and I almost regret buying my 2009...

Oh please. I love all cars. This is the first Ford I have owned, and I used to stick with autoX in a WRX. I just can't stand ignorant comments about cars that aren't even out yet. I also love how people think a solid rear axle car can't handle, yet cars like the Cobalt SS lapped faster than a Lancer Evolution around the Nurburgring. Solid rear axle cars are very capable, you just can't have an idiot driving it. BTW, name calling is for high school. Grow up and then you can have a mature conversation with the big kids.

Well the 2003-2004 Cobra you're in love with is an IRS car and the Panoz I race is a solid axle w/ a watts link... so what's your point? Mustangs still sucks donkey balls for track cars unless you spend $20k in Griggs crap to re-engineer the car. And if you're to the point of spending that kind of money on a car you can make anything into a competent chassis. Give me a toilet and $20k and I can make it fast.

20,000$ dollars though?? thats a lot of money to get something to handle better. You might as well invest that money into a POS car that you wouldnt care about crashing. I think what brian is trying to say, is that if you have to spend god awful amounts of money to get something to handle better just to "hang" with the competition on a course, you may want to look at a different type of platform. I know those higher stage grigg's kits arent for the average mustang owner either.
