Beat a reckless?
I got a reckless too. 88/65. I dont have the money for a lawyer, so I'm going in by myself. Perfectly clean record, honors academy at college, and I drive cars for auto auctions. I'm just going to use that shit, and hope it gets reduced. Don't take driving school beforehand - you'll probably get it assigned to you.
Another thing in my favor, is that my court date is Dec 23rd, two days before Christmas. My father will be with me also, so I'm just hoping all goes well.

get a lawyer man, reckless are carrying mandatory jail time these days. im in court once or twice a month and ive seen a shitload of people get locked up. if u dont have a lawyer they judge will walk all over you and treat you like a complete piece of shit. they care nothing about you as a person, or the crime. all they care about is how much money they can rape you for. get a good lawyer and u may not even have to go to trial.. but ull pay a grande or so for lawyer fees..... greasing the wheels of the judicial system. this city is so fucking corrupt.
it was my first ticket after 2 years of driving - 86 in 55:
I went to driver improvement, went to court.. got 90 day suspension and $136 fine.
Appealed it, got a lawyer ($850), got a shop to replace my broken speedo($100), went to circuit court... got lowered to 64 in 55 with at least $200 in court fees (mostly by luck however, lawyer was good friends with the prosecutor)
in the end im saving it in insurance costs over the years

I got a 76 in a 35 and only got a speeding ticket. First, I made sure I pulled over as soon as I saw the lights. Cops hate people that take their time pulling over. I also talked to the cop for 3 hours explaining myself. I got lucky though, the cop and I went to the same college. This was on Fairfax County Parkway.
P.S. That was my very first moving violation ticket.
