I know those higher stage grigg's kits arent for the average mustang owner either.
Exactly what i was getting at.... if you've never run laps on a road course you just won't get it. IMO it's all about picking a car with the right foundation. Now if you pickup an older Foxbody or SN-95 car for next to nothing and build a race car out of it then that's all good.... they can be done right, done light, and done relatively "cheap".

The Mustang already out handles it's competition, Challenger and Camaro, But Brian is trying to make it seem like a shit car because it doesn't handle like a Vette. Just like most vette owners, and most road race guys. They make themselves feel better by talking down to people that prefer drag racing over road racing.
The Mustang is the ultimate blank palette, you can make them whatever you want, and for a relatively low price.

^ Huh? I never talked down drag racing. Read my posts above. I specifically said the Poopstang is the superior drag platform and that if I wanted to get back into that segment of this hobby I'd get a '03 Cobra w/ a stick axle and swap out the blower.

My responses are directed at dude-bro who thinks it's an amazing auto-x/road race car.... it's not... there are much better tools for the job.

I think Toyota still has less recalls than GM and Ford. I don't remember the specs though.

Funny irony today: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/29/g...-owners-to-pa/

I was really hoping that a decent IRS setup would be under the Stang in 2011. Oh well. I'll keep waiting.

And LOL @ anyone who thinks a 2003-2004 Cobra is an "amazing car".... the car has a great engine setup from the Factory, but it's hardly an amazing car.

You're right.... I have no track experience.... '03-'04 Cobras are shit auto-x/track cars. The chassis sucks, the suspension sucks, they're nose heavy, they're fucking heavy in general, and the stupid heaton gets hot.

Mustangs still sucks donkey balls for track cars unless you spend $20k in Griggs crap to re-engineer the car. And if you're to the point of spending that kind of money on a car you can make anything into a competent chassis. Give me a toilet and $20k and I can make it fast.

You're right, from your posts above, you don't sound condescending at all.

According to you, a car is not legendary if it doesn't handle better than a Vette, so 03 Cobras, Supras, and Grand Nationals, all suck Donkey balls.

They do for track use.... major donkey balls... what's your point? The interiors suck worse than my C5s and they rattle more than my truck. You sit up on the car vs. in the car and when you put the seat all the way back to get comfortable you can't reach the damn shifter and I'm 6'4" w/ long arms.

That's your opinion,The way you look at it, is if it doesn't take a road course like a Vette, it sucks. All 3 cars I listed are legendary, and most people would agree. You've got an "I'm a stuck up, road racing Corvette owner" attitude, and you don't even realize it.

I'm 6'3, and I have no issues reaching any shifter. Maybe you have Carnie arms?

Pre-04 mustangs, cobra or not, are pretty bad. Wet noodle chassis, 4 link solid axle, retarded spring rates, horrible IRS design for those equipped, etc. The 05+ I wouldn't mind doing some suspension modifications and having some fun. I wouldn't mind a Terminator with a few Griggs mods and have some open track fun though.

C5 interior sucks donkey dick btw.
