2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Dynoed
20,000$ dollars though?? thats a lot of money to get something to handle better. You might as well invest that money into a POS car that you wouldnt care about crashing. I think what brian is trying to say, is that if you have to spend god awful amounts of money to get something to handle better just to "hang" with the competition on a course, you may want to look at a different type of platform. I know those higher stage grigg's kits arent for the average mustang owner either.

The Mustang is the ultimate blank palette, you can make them whatever you want, and for a relatively low price.
^ Huh? I never talked down drag racing. Read my posts above. I specifically said the Poopstang is the superior drag platform and that if I wanted to get back into that segment of this hobby I'd get a '03 Cobra w/ a stick axle and swap out the blower.
My responses are directed at dude-bro who thinks it's an amazing auto-x/road race car.... it's not... there are much better tools for the job.

Funny irony today: http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/29/g...-owners-to-pa/
I was really hoping that a decent IRS setup would be under the Stang in 2011. Oh well. I'll keep waiting.

Cobra is legendary for drag racing.... but it's a piece of shit Mustang the rest of the time. If I wanted to drag race I'd get one and do what you did.... chagne the FI out and put a stick axle in and go fuck some people up.
You're right.... I have no track experience.... '03-'04 Cobras are shit auto-x/track cars. The chassis sucks, the suspension sucks, they're nose heavy, they're fucking heavy in general, and the stupid heaton gets hot.
)
Well the 2003-2004 Cobra you're in love with is an IRS car and the Panoz I race is a solid axle w/ a watts link... so what's your point? Mustangs still sucks donkey balls for track cars unless you spend $20k in Griggs crap to re-engineer the car. And if you're to the point of spending that kind of money on a car you can make anything into a competent chassis. Give me a toilet and $20k and I can make it fast.

According to you, a car is not legendary if it doesn't handle better than a Vette, so 03 Cobras, Supras, and Grand Nationals, all suck Donkey balls.
They do for track use.... major donkey balls... what's your point? The interiors suck worse than my C5s and they rattle more than my truck. You sit up on the car vs. in the car and when you put the seat all the way back to get comfortable you can't reach the damn shifter and I'm 6'4" w/ long arms.

I'm 6'3, and I have no issues reaching any shifter. Maybe you have Carnie arms?
Pre-04 mustangs, cobra or not, are pretty bad. Wet noodle chassis, 4 link solid axle, retarded spring rates, horrible IRS design for those equipped, etc. The 05+ I wouldn't mind doing some suspension modifications and having some fun. I wouldn't mind a Terminator with a few Griggs mods and have some open track fun though.
C5 interior sucks donkey dick btw.

Lets all just agree that Ford/Chevy > Toyota.... and as more Priuses crash the more money I make.
