how is it running till it gets to the 5k redline? if its running like ass, most likely have the maf sensor unplugged, or it tis bad. with it not reading maf it will lean out at around 5k because its not adjusting the air fuel.... my opinion, take it as you wish

 

no not that. it's just there is a speed gov on 240s. it takes the speed and 4th and 5th gear if one of the sensors is bad the car will shut off at 5k. it's alsmot tell tale.

I didn't mean, you dont' drive a 240 so you can't suggest anything.

 

so it is still on, just not rev past. like rev limiter? I would check the MAFS like Ken suggested then.

 

oh its okay, on my car when my fuel filter got clogged it would cut out at 5k, but you said it stays right there. When my timing was off my car wouldnt rev past 4.5k =(, but i guess ure car is totaly different. No govener here

no it was plugged in, jus had to reset the ecu and voila revved up
